    • Obituary

      Funeral service for Susan Braniff, 79, was held from the PiapotCommunity Hall, Piapot, Swift Current region, Saskatchewan Tuesday,February 16, 1988 with Fr. J. Foley officiating. Interment followedin the Piapot cemetery. Binkley's Funeral Service (m>C.) Ltd. was incharge of arrangements.

      Pallbearers were - Charlie Bertram, Murry Bertram, Wade Bertram, SidMcGillivray, Robert Needham, Richard Needham. Pianist was Mrs. JaniceSanderson.

      Susan Braniff was born August 8, 1908 to Andrew and SuzanneGuardappie. She was one of eleven children and attended school in theKeeley Springs district.

      As a young girl she kept herself busy helping out with the chores onthe family farm. She also enjoyed attending various communityfunctions such as the many country school dances and of course, theMurraydale Stampede.

      In 1928 Susan married to Charles Emmanual Braniff. They resided onthe family farm where they were blessed with six children - Alma,Thomas, Curtis, Doris, Margaret and Arthur. During this time period,Susan was actively involved in various community functions as well asthe task of raising her six children.

      In October of 1960, Susan and Charles retired from the farm and movedinto the town of Piapot. Again Susan remained busy with civicfunctions and the running of the household.

      In 1962, she was predeceased by her youngest son, Arthur, and in 1970,her husband, Charles, passed away. Susan continued to reside inPiapot and enjoyed the company, both young and old, she received.

      Independent to the end, Susan remained living in her own home untilthe time of her death.
